13. 3. CCC Assorted Reading Materials 3.1 Synchronous Reading (Volume 1~4 ) “Synchronous Reading” is supplementary reading material of CCC. CCC contains 50 subjects of knowledge which are the 50 lessons of the textbook. Corresponding to the 50 subjects, “Synchronous Reading” also contains 50 lessons. In each lesson, “Synchronous Reading” contains some frequently used vocabularies, phrases, sentences and short stories on the subject with the CCC characters already learnt. “Synchronous Reading” helps students review and consolidate the characters learnt, and at the same time cultivates and trains their pre-reading capability. Combining “Synchronous Reading” in the course of CCC learning, the consolidation rate of character recognition will be increased greatly.

14. Compared to “Synchronous Reading”, “Comprehensive Reading” is for advanced reading practice after students finish learning CCC volume I and II. 17. 乾坤有序，宇宙无疆。 乾（ qián ）坤（ kūn): 中国最大的，也是最重要的一对哲学范畴。《周易》六十四卦的 第一卦和第二卦。是促使万物发生变化的两种截然相反的物质的性质。乾之象为天， 表示阳性，坤之象为地，表示阴性。乾坤强调的不是相互对立，而是相辅相成。乾始 物，坤成物，乾和坤两种物质相互交感才能推动事物发生变化。因此乾坤又引申为天 地、日月、男女、父母等。 乾（ qián ）坤（ kūn): are the supreme and most important pair of philosophical concepts in China. They are the first and second hexagrams in Zhouyi, also known as Changes of the Zhou. They are diametrically different natures of matter to prompt creatures to change. The phenomenon of Qian is Heaven, representing Yang; while the phenomenon of Kun is Earth, representing Yin. Yizhuang, i.e. Ten Wings holds that Heaven produces creatures and Earth helps creatures grow. Qian and Kun are not opposite but complementary. Qian gives birth to creatures and Kun nourishes them. The very interaction between them gives impetus to the changes of creatures. In this sense, the Qian and Kun can refer to Heaven and Earth, the Sun and the Moon, man and woman, or father and mother, etc. 有（ yǒu): 1.to have 2.to exist. 序 (xù): 次序、顺序。序 (xù) ： means sequence, succession. 宇 (yǔ) 宙 (zhòu): 空间与时间的总和。宇指空间，宙指时间； the summation of space and time.
