West Cornwall Local Action Group CLLD LEADER Opportunity Right across Cornwall – 100% geography LEP ambition to deliver 5% of EU SIF (over £25m) Deliver LEADER rural programme 4 new Local Action Groups to be established Focus on sustainable jobs and growth

West Cornwall Local Action Group LEADERCLLD Rural Only LDS was submitted September 2014 Approved areas notified November 2014 Begin delivery early 2015 thru LEP Rural/Urban Process scheduled to begin in Jan 2015 by seeking EOI’s CLLD in place Oct 2016 But:- Growth Deal announcement may speed this up

West Cornwall Local Action Group Role of the LAG To stimulate and support community led local development and regeneration in your LAG area To deliver the Local Development Strategy (LDS) by selecting and prioritising activities that meet your objectives, operating in a fair, impartial and democratic way To monitor, publicise and promote the implementation of your LDS

West Cornwall Local Action Group Role of the LAG Member To take decisions on LAG activity to deliver your LDS To represent your local area and sector in the LAG To act as an ambassador for your LAG and LDS To ensure local debate on local issues and proposed solutions

West Cornwall Local Action Group Role of the Accountable Body Responsible for delivery of the funding programmes on behalf of the LAG – legally and financially Ensures all activity is compliant with EU and National Regulations Employs staff to deliver the programmes Partnership Agreement with the LAG

West Cornwall Local Action Group Timescales AugustFirst meetings of new Local Action Groups SeptemberLocal Development Strategy submitted to Government Novemberoutcome of bid known April 2015- new LEADER programme starts(or earlier??) September onwards – begin preparation for CLLD
