Personality Traits that Promote Health Sometimes you cannot control your environment or your heredity, but you can control your behavior! Controlling your behavior: Sense of humor Knowledge of different subjects Consideration for others Optimism Gratitude

Expressing your Emotions Emotions may change suddenly and unexpectedly. Healthful Expressions: Talking to someone when upset Reflecting before acting Going for a walk

Expressing your Emotions Unhealthy Expressions: Ignoring emotions- holding them in Displaced aggression- taking it out on someone unrelated to the situation. Use of violence, drugs, overeating.

Expressing Your Emotions Boredom Is usually encountered when someone has too much free time or focuses on only their own needs To combat boredom- Exercise Do someone a favor Spend time with friends Develop more interests

Dealing with Anxiety, Insecurity and Depression Dealing with Depression When feelings of unhappiness and moodiness persist and they effect your ability to function, this is a sign of depression. It may be a chemical or biological disorder. Not all causes are obvious.
