2. The Writing Folio 2 pieces of writing – One Creative – One Discursive Externally assessed (but one piece can also count as your internally assessed Language Study NAB) Worth 20% of overall grade Submitted end of April 2011 With the exception of poetry, the minimum length for each piece is 650 words and the maximum is 1300 words. You must state accurately the word count for each piece.

3. Authenticity The work must be your own. You can get advice and guidance from your teacher, but it is not acceptable for a teacher (or any other person) to direct you to a topic, to provide key ideas, to provide a structure or plan, to suggest specific wording, or to correct errors in spelling and/or punctuation for you. You must not copy material from print or electronic sources, and if you quote from someone else’s work, you must make it clear that you are doing so.

4. Evidence of Planning 1) Draft title and proposals 2) Outline plan 3) First draft 4) Final version ALL DRAFT MATERIALS MUST BE RETAINED AS EVIDENCE OF AUTHENTICITY!

5. Creative Writing Personal reflective essay Piece of prose fiction (e.g. short story, episode from a novel) Poem or set of thematically-linked poems Dramatic script (e.g. Scene, monologue, sketch)

6. Discursive Writing Persuasive essay Discursive essay Report fulfilling an agreed remit
