Awareness raising and knowledge Lack of awareness or knowledge on: the requirement of the BC what is a hazardous waste or not and which facilities can ensure ESM. Lack of certainty that waste will treated in ESM as ensured by the importer. Lack of knowledge on the documentation required to accompany hazardous wastes.

Others Increase in production of hazardous waste due to changing consumption patterns. Illicit movements such as charity, donation, humanitarian aid turning in to wastes.
