1. What are gerunds? Gerunds or Verbal nouns
When we use a verb in –ing form like a noun, verb or adjective. Examples: That is ballet dancing.

2. Gerunds after certain verbs
Admit, appreciate, avoid, carry on, consider, defer, delay, deny, detest, dislike, endure, enjoy, escape, excuse, face, feel like, finish, forgive, give up, can't help, imagine, involve, leave off, mention, mind, miss, postpone, practise, put off, report, resent, risk, can't stand, suggest, understand. Examples: Cristina Rogdríguez is considering having a holiday. I dislike eating. Verb + gerund verb + gerund

3. Gerund vs. Present Participle
When we use a verb in –ing form like a noun Example: Fishing is fun. When we use a verb in –ing form like a verb / adjective Example: Xavi Andres is fishing. Gerund Present Participle

4. Gerund in Past Parciple
Suggests that the gerund happened before something else. Examples: My having been to Asia helped me learn the language when I took classes. Having taken a physics class helped me in calculus. Being accepted to Harvard University was the greatest day of my life.

We use gerund (verb + -ing) after preposition: Example: I’m very good at remembering names. Example: She’s given up smoking prep + gerund We use gerund (verb + -ing) after phrasal verbs: We use gerund (verb + -ing) after phrasal verbs: Phrasal verb + gerund
