Humble ISD on Bullying O The Texas Education Code defines bullying as engaging in written or verbal expression, expression through electronic means, or physical conduct that occurs on school property, at a school-sponsored or school-related activity, or in a vehicle operated by the district and that: O (1) Has the effect or will have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a student's property, or placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to the student's person or of damage to the student's property; or O (2) Is sufficiently severe, persistent and pervasive enough that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening or abusive educational environment for a student. [Act of June 17, 2011, 82th Leg., R.S., H.B. 1942, § 7 (to be codified at Texas Education Code § 37.0832)]

O talk to their children to help them understand the negative impact of bullying and how to prevent it or respond to it O Please share with your child the importance of reporting to an adult/parent immediately if he/she is being bullied, either at school or on the Internet, on sites such as Facebook and MySpace. O Let your children know that you will not tolerate any bullying-type behavior they may be a part of. O Too often, schools learn about a bullying situation after it’s too late. O Let your teacher know early, we can work together as partners and take appropriate measures to stop the bullying.
