How does Transitions compare to Future 5 and Stand Out 5? We specially tailored the scope and sequence to cover the skills need to successfully transition out of ESL. Listening: With each listening lesson, students hear a classroom lecture or workplace presentation and practice valuable note-taking skills. Reading: Each unit has 2 reading lessons -- twice as many reading lessons than the regular SBs. Our high- interest readings cover topics designed to help students cope with the world beyond ESL.
21
Vocabulary development: Each lesson teaches students strategies to develop their vocabulary. Critical thinking: We’ve put an emphasis on teaching critical thinking: prediction, inference, summarizing.
