Before reading and taking notes, REVISIT the essential question of your notes to focus your reading and note taking… EQ: What are important school wide policies and procedures and how do they affect me as a student? Preparing for Focused Notes

Now READ the section on Academic Classes Starts with: “Each student at UMS will have a 7 period day… Ends with: “…are able to purchase a new binder reminder for $5 at the office.” Preparing for Focused Notes

Some quick TIPS for taking notes SKIP lines between ideas AVOID writing complete sentences USE symbols, abbreviations, graphics when possible INDENT to show relationships between ideas Preparing for Focused Notes
