4. TSI INFORMATION About TSI (Texas Success Initiative) The TSI is a placement assessment which determines college readiness. It is required for AA, AAS, transfer courses, BA/BS degree plans and some certificate programs. It assesses placement level for reading, writing, and math courses. The test is computer based, does not have a time limit and it can be taken at most community college and university campuses. EXEMPTIONS: Students are exempt IF they meet the following.. ACT: Composite score of 23 with a 19 minimum on Math and/or English SAT: Combined score of 1070 (M+R) with a 500 minimum on Math and/ or Verbal Reading WCJC offers the TSI for $29.00 you can contact their testing office at (281) 239-1532. To test at WCJC you must submit an application to the school through www.applytexas.org ; send a high school transcript; and complete the pre-assessment activity on www.wcjc.eduwww.applytexas.orgwww.wcjc.edu HCC offers the TSI for $29.00 to take ALL sections or $10.00 for individual sections you can contact their Central Testing office at (713) 718-6011 for more information.
