2. Quarter long courses (~ 9 weeks). Students rotate to next course on 1 st day of the next quarter. (4 rotations) – Rotations can be found on student schedules. There is ample time in class to complete required work. Students are expected to use class time wisely & productively to be successful in these classes.

5. Word Processing & Spreadsheets – 6 th Grade – Introduction – 7 th Grade – Cont. Practice w/ More Emphasis – 8 th Grade – Project work similar to high school, college, & career ready activities Formal block letters, reports, tables Emphasis on developing independent users of technology. Image Source Keyboarding – 6 th = Introduction 7 th = Practice 8 th = Expected to reach D300 goal of 35wpm w/ 97% accuracy. Direct practice in class Online programs (can be used at home) Promote correct keyboarding techniques with your students!

6. Students use multiple digital tools to research & create. All grade levels learn tips & strategies for: – Online Research – Safe Internet Research – Being Good Online Citizens Grade levels – 6th = Dynamic Techniques for Power Point – 7th = Presenting Digitally, Programming, & Digital Storytelling – 8th = Focus on Careers & Generating Multimedia Presentations w/ Advanced Technological Skills Image Source
