How To Add An Additional Section to an Existing WDCE Course via Colleague Updated 10-22-2009

Type SECT in the Quick Access text box and click go to access the SECT screen. In the Course Section Look Up box type a course section i.e. 2009 CSU COM 325. Click OK. Click Save at the SECT screen to advance to the next screen.

Click in the checkbox to the left of the section you want to select. Type an ‘a’ in the box at the bottom and then click the disk to save and update. Click save to save your work and advance to the next screen.

In the Term text box, enter a Year and Term i.e. 2009CSU. In the Start/End Date boxes enter start and end dates. In the Location text box, enter LARGO for PGCC Largo Campus or type … for a selection list. In the Depts/Pct text box enter 100.00.

In the CEUs box, enter the number of Continuing Education Units i.e. 2.40. Select an option from the Course Lvls dropdown box i.e. CE Continuing Education. In the Grade Scheme text box, enter CE for continuing education or type … for a selection list.

In the Short Title text box, enter the Short Title of the Course. In the Status dropdown box, make sure that the status is active.

Enter a Topic Code text box for the course. i.e.19020 for Language Amer or type … for a selection list. Click on the Offering Info drilldown box to go to the Offering Info Screen.

In the Instruction Method text box enter LEC for Lecture or type … for a selection list. In the Contact Hrs (Contact Hours) text box enter a number i.e. 29.00.—Populated automatically from CRSE If the contact hours text box is blank, leave it blank.

In the Contact Measure drop down box select an option from list i.e. T Term.—Populated automatically from CRSE In the Clock Hrs (Clock Hours) text box enter a number i.e. 28.80. In the Instr Meth (Instruction Method) text box enter Lecture or type … for a selection list.

In the Bldg and Room text box, enter the Building and Room number or TBA if unknown. In the St. Time and End time text box enter the class start and end time. In the Days of the Week text box enter a day i.e. W for Wednesday, etc.

In the St and End Date text boxes Change number of Weeks (sessions) if different that what is being offering. In the text box next to ‘Rebuild Meeting Dates’, Always enter a ‘Y’ and save and update.

In the Frequency dropdown box enter a frequency i.e. weekly. Be sure to click save to save work. Click the Actual Meeting Times drilldown box to go to meeting times.

Click on the number to the left of a class meeting to be modified. Click Insert to insert a meeting date or Delete to delete a meeting date. Click on insert to add a meeting date.

Type ‘a’ and click OK to add a meeting time in the popup box. In the meeting dates textbox, enter a date. In the day of the week textbox, enter a day of the week.

In the start and end time text boxes, enter a start and end time. In the Building and Room text boxes enter a location. If not known, enter TBA. Be sure to click save to save work and advance to the SOFF screen.

Look over this screen to see if changes need to be made. Be sure to click save to save work. This tutorial will continue to be updated as needed.
