Nationalism Nationalism is a feeling of pride in and devotion to one’s nation. It is a feeling that develops among people who may share a common language, history, set of traditions, or goal. ► Nationalism can be positive by having people join together to choose their own form of government, and seek independence. ► Nationalism can also be negative by breaking up empires, causing racism and the imperialism of other nations

If we speak of soil in Europe today, we can only have in mind Russia ► ADOLF HITLER (TAKEN FROM MEIN KAMPF)

Nationalism can also lead to independence movements ► “We believe it is the inalienable right of the Indian people, as of any other people, to have freedom and to enjoy the fruits of their toil and have the necessities of life… We also believe that if any government deprives a people of these rights and oppresses them, the people have a further right to alter it or abolish it. The British Government of India has not only deprived the Indian people of their freedom but has exploited the masses, and has ruined India economically, politically, culturally and spiritually. We believe, therefore, that India must sever (break) the British connection and attain Purna Swaraj or Complete Independence.” ► - MOHANDAS GANDHI
