What’s New for 2015-16 No Saturday PSAT –Do not accept out of district students No More Cassettes! –Prepare computers with USB ports to use MP3 Audio Students with an IEP for calculator use can apply for SSD permission to use a 4-function calculator during section 3, no-calculator Points are given for right answers only (no wrong answer penalty) Students approved for extended time will be permitted breaks between sections No cursive Certification Statement Remittance statement will be emailed after answers are received for processing 3

SAC Coordinator Student Preparation Distribute “Official Student Guide” and encourage students to practice Encourage students to create a College Board account for PSAT (SAT required) Require home-school students to arrive early to complete pre-ID information Plan for late arriving students (can’t enter when testing has started) 4

SAC Coordinator Site Preparation Complete the Building Plan, due Sept. 20 Inform proctors of: –Break Schedule –Hall Monitors –Contact process for urgent need in the classroom –SIR process and form 5

SAC Coordinator Material Preparation Before the Test –Add calendar reminders to Outlook with important dates –Read the Supervisor’s Manual (Bulk Registration Version) –Training on Collegeboard.org/PTAT –By September 25: Order Non-Standard Tests Additional tests, if needed for Grade 11 students –Inventory Materials Immediately 6

Inventory −Verify number of boxes received −Count test booklets (do not open shrink wrap) −Verify date of exam on booklets is Oct. 14 −Verify the number of answer sheets −Distribute student guides −Confirm the receipt of: Non standard return envelopes Supervisor’s Report - Remittance envelope Irregularity forms (SIR forms) Return boxes −Separate delivery of: Non standard materials Non standard manual and script 7

SAC Coordinator Provide the Proctor with: –Sign Out/In secure materials Test booklets Answer sheets with labels –# 2 Pencils and erasers –Seating charts (must be retained for 6 months) –Student answer sheets –Test booklets 1 extra test booklet and answer sheet per room 8

Proctor Preparation Determine what you will use as the visible clock during testing Cover or Remove any educational materials related to test content Read Testing Script (starting page 18) to follow the navigation of directions and ensure a more natural voice Use the random seating chart. Students may not choose where to sit. Post the timing schedule and school code on the white board. (Proctor overview checklist) 9

Script for Pre-ID Labels and completing the identification information on the answer sheets starts on page 10 Testing Script begins on page 18 in the Supervisor’s Manual (Bulk Registration Version) Ensure only acceptable calculators (page 27) are available for Section 4 Testing Directions 10

Return answer sheets by next day –One per student (destroy unused) Complete Supervisor’s Report Return NAR envelopes with the student answer sheet included Submit any SIR forms Follow page 30 directions for returning materials. Grade 11 students who were ill should contact NMSC (fax 847-866-5113) for late testing options Remittance Report for Grade 11 students will be available via email notification after answer sheets are processed After Testing 11

Once the email notification arrives indicating CB has received the answer sheets: Log in to collegeboard.org/school and create the Remittance Report Submit payment for Grade 11 students (page 32) Contact C&A to provide the Fee- Waiver Roster Store Test Booklets securely, organized to return to students with score reports Remittance Report 12
