Bell Ringer Meet with your partner from last class and push your desks together IF NOT FINISHED... Find the boxes that you need and finish the characteristics section ONLY. IF FINISHED… You and your partner will fill in the medical name section WHEN FINISHED MEDICAL NAME SECTION… Discuss with your partner how those characteristics allow you to know which bone it is. Find another group to compare characteristics and medical names. Add any characteristics to your sheet that you feel are good descriptors that you did not have. Discuss reasoning for why you identified each bone with the medical name you chose.

Objectives Content Objective: The students will be able to compare and contrast the characteristics of various bones, by touching them, in order to determine which bone is located where on their body; demonstrated both through a class discussion and on a worksheet. Language Objective: The students will be able to dictate the medical names for the bones, using the powerpoint as reference, while discussing where each bone belongs in the body with a partner and with the class, identified through teacher observation.

Class Discussion What bone (using the medical name) do you think is in box #____? What characteristic made you believe it was this bone? Did you use previous knowledge to make the connection? Are there any additional characteristics you noticed that assisted you in identifying that bone? Fill in your worksheet after we discuss each bone.
