1.The first celebrations of St. Valentine’s Day have been held since 14 February 269AD. 2. According to one story, St. Valentine was a priest who married young people against the orders of the Roman Emperor Claudius II. He believed that single young men would be better soldiers. 3. One of the customs the young people liked was name-drawing. The names of the Roman girls were written on slips of paper and put into a jar. Each young man drew a slip. The girl whose name he drew was to be his sweetheart for a year. According to a tradition people should kiss the first person he/she meets and give him/her a valentine in a form of heart. 4. I think that on this day people can tell about their feelings to each other. And on this day some pairs can meet again. 5. Nowadays people exchange valentines, give each other different presents, sweets in a form of a heart.

6. I think that different countries will bring new traditions of celebrating St. Valentine’s Day. For example, people should give a sweet-valentine in a form of heart to the first person and petal of red rose, which will mean part of your heart. And this people should wish each other love and happiness. 7. Of course, my family will celebrate this holiday. It’s our tradition. Every year my mother cooks very tasty heart-cakes, which are signs of love. All my friends celebrate this holiday, too. They buy many valentines and exchange them. 8. Firstly, people can say about their feelings. Secondly, celebrating this holiday is a tradition and a habit of all young people in the world. We show our respect to each other. It’s very pleasant to get a lot of valentines. 9. I think that the most common reason for ignoring this holiday is a religion. 10. I think that each young person should celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. It’s very interesting and funny!
