Important Information Students in Grades 3,4,and 5 are welcome to audition. Students in Grades 1 and 2 are welcome to sign up for the First and Second Grade Chorus, directed by Mrs. Sawade. Auditions for Grades 3,4,and 5 are on: –Tuesday, December 10: 3:45-6:30pm –Thursday, December 12: 3:45-6:30pm

Auditions: Q & A I’m not comfortable being on stage. Can I still participate in the musical? –Yes! We have several positions for CREW members to be backstage working on the musical. No one will see you, you don’t have to perform, and it’s a great opportunity to have fun and learn what it takes to make a great show! You do not have to audition to be on the Crew. All you have to do is fill out an application and turn it in to Sra. Harmon or the Main Office by Monday, November 25!

What is Crew anyway? Lights Crew: in charge of running the light board. Sound Crew: in charge of running the sound board. Painting Crew: in charge of painting the sets. Curtains Crew: in charge of opening and closing the curtains. Stage Crew: in charge of moving the set pieces on and off stage Costume, Hair, and Make-up: in charge of organizing costumes and assisting with hair and make-up House Ushers: in charge of helping audience members find a seat on the nights of the show Photographers: in charge of shooting pictures of rehearsals and the shows

Auditions: Q & A How do I audition? –An application will be handed out to you in class. Fill it out COMPLETELY and turn it in to Sra. Harmon or the main office. Applications are due by Monday, November 25. –Once I receive your application, I will schedule you for a 15 minute audition on the day you indicate on the application.

Auditions: Q & A What do I have to do at the audition? –Show up 5 minutes early to your audition. There will be a parent there to give you a name tag and put you in a line. –You will walk into the audition room with a group of other students. You will sing the audition song together as a group. Then, you will be asked to sing it by yourself.

Auditions: Q & A After the singing portion of the audition is over, you will be asked to read from the script. You will read the part you practice, and the judges may also ask you to read a part that you did not practice. After the script reading, you may ask any questions you have. Remember to thank the judges!

Auditions: Q & A Does everybody get a part? –Yes. If you audition for the show, you will automatically get a part. Which part you get depends on the quality of your audition and what the judges decide. When will I know which part I got? –The cast and crew list will be posted on the PTA website on Friday, December 13 th after school. It will be posted at Wealthy on Monday, December 16 th.

Auditions: Q & A How can I prepare for my audition? –There are audition packets in Sra. Harmon’s office. The packets have the sheet music for the audition song and the script readings for each of the major roles in the show. Pick which character you would like to audition for and practice that part.

Auditions: Q & A How can I prepare for my audition? –You can also come to the Audition Workshop for Grades 3-5 held in the Gym on Monday, November 18 th from 3:45-5:15pm. There, we will learn the audition song and learn some helpful tips for auditioning. If you are interested, feel free to join us. * You do NOT have to go to the workshop in order to audition.
