5. 5 Key Recommendations  Account for AC  Energy target will account for AC when:  the cooling load > 2.0 MJ/m3 and  Indoor temp > 25.6 o C for more than 75 hours/month for at least 2 months in a year.  not necessary to install an AC unit  Account for Renewable Energy  SDHW & geothermal currently accounted in hot water and space heating in software  New equation will credit electricity from on-site renewable electricity sources (e.g., PV, wind)

8. 8 ESNH  First Committee meeting took place in December 2010  Vision: to provide consumers with access to energy efficient new homes and builders with a means to building these homes in a timely, simple and cost- effective manner using common building practices.  Committee Goal: make recommendations on national minimum requirements and provincial BOPs  Initial work to be complete by December 2011
