14 Lifelong Learning Policies in a Context of Crisis Employment Initiative 2009 Measure 4 – Extend Social Protection Extension of the social allowance of unemployment (enlargement of the period of allowance in + 6 months) Target: 50 000 beneficiaries Maintain social allowance of unemployment in case of quick return to the labour market (hold the full relevance of all previous contribute periods in future modulation of the length of eventual unemployment allowances)
