Mrs. Facey’s Fourth Grade Class Welcome, students!

Welcome to Fourth Grade! I will introduce you to fourth grade and to our classroom. If you have any questions during my presentation, please raise your hand and wait to be called on.

Any New Students? I’d like to welcome two new students: Alissa and Kelsey. They both went to Park Street School last year. AGMS is a great school and I’m sure we’ll all have a great year together.

All About Me My background I grew up in Marysville. I attended AGMS, George St. Jr. High, FHS and UNB. My experience I’ve been teaching for 24 years. I have also taught second and third grades, but fourth is my favorite.

My Family My husband Bryan Our children daughter, Sara Sara is 20 and is in 3 rd year university at STU son, Scott Scott is almost 18 and in 1 st year @ UNB Bryan and Me ScottSara

My Goals To give you the academic and social skills you need to progress to fifth grade and also to get ready for middle school. To provide a supportive and fun classroom environment. To help you make new friends and discover new interests.

AGMS Keys to Success What does it mean to be successful? The whole school will be working together to help each and every one of you be the BEST person you can be! It will require you to pay attention to our daily focus and to show some initiative for you to be successful.

Reward System You can EARN classroom money by: Listening and Following Directions. Working quietly (not bothering others). Finishing your work. Raising your hand to ask questions. What to do when your work is finished? Walking in the hall WITHOUT talking. Homework.

Spending Classroom Money Money can be used for the following: Rent a computer chair. Rent a basketball. Rent the back table at lunch with 3 friends. Eat lunch with a friend. Friday afternoon activities. SAVE for the end of the year Auction!

Loosing Classroom Money There are fines for not following classroom or school rules. The amount of the fine depends on how often you do something you shouldn’t. If it happens too often, you will not only lose money, your parents will be called.

Classroom Community What is a community? Our classroom is a community. Communities have rules to keep everyone safe. Our school and classroom have rules to keep you safe.

Class Rules for Mrs. Facey’s Fourth Grade Class These are the rules we will follow this year to learn, play, and have fun.

Classroom Rules Respect and be kind to others. Listen carefully to directions, and obey them. Do not touch others. Work quietly. Work and play safely. Raise your hand before you ask a question. Listen quietly while others are speaking. Do not play with toys in class.

Hall Rules Obey all our school rules. Respect our school’s property. Be quiet in lines, hallways, and restrooms. Walk only, no running. Stay in a straight line, and stay on the right side of the hall.

Lunchtime Rules Eat quietly. No lunch – talk to me at recess. No trading food or buying food. Don’t play with or throw your food. Clean your desk before you go out to play. Put your lunch bag in your book bag. Don’t take food on the playground.

Homework Passport to Literacy – Read for at least 15 minutes each night and record in your book. Math Facts – test every Friday No Excuse Spelling Words

Report Cards What do you want to see on your report card? How do you get it? Do you think you have to be the smartest in the class to get a good report card?

On School starts at 7:55 A.M. If you aren’t in the classroom by the time the second bell rings, please check in at the school office before coming to class. You will be responsible for anything you miss if you arrive late. This may include staying in at recess and/or lunch to catch up.

Field Trips We have lots of fun field trips planned for this year! We will be going swimming this year at the Fredericton Indoor Pool. We will visit Ducks Unlimited in May. We will have an end of the year field trip in June.
