2010 Fall CCSDS meeting SMWG (@London, UK ) 1 . Background a. In March 2008, JPL and JAXA conducted the protocol validation using the prototype, which was developed in compliance with the CCSDS Service Management(R-1), and we also conducted the tracking activities using the JPL DSN and the JAXA satellite “SELENE”. b. At the IOAG-12 in September 2008, JPL and JAXA agreed to conduct a second validation test between JPL and JAXA using a prototype, which is compliant with the Service Management Red-2. c. At the CCSDS spring meeting 2009 in Colorado Springs, JAXA proposed and coordinated preconditions and activity schedule for the second validation test using the upgraded prototype with JPL, before we start its activity. d. At the last CCSDS spring meeting 2010 in Virginia, JAXA suggested the second validation test using SM Blue-1 and agreed by JPL. And JAXA coordinated the prototype testing with JPL at the meeting in Aug. 2010. e. At this meeting, JAXA will report the status of prototype activities included the rescheduling, and JAXA would like to update the yellow book of the reporting after the test. 3 JAXA-GN-xxx

2010 Fall CCSDS meeting SMWG (@London, UK ) 4 2. Objectives Primary Objectives of 2nd test is the validation of the SCCS SM standard via prototyping. Specifically; a. Validate message exchange protocol b. Validate service request exchange About the test report of this second test, JAXA would like to add the report to the yellow book “SPACE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE MANAGEMENT PROTOTYPE TEST PLAN AND REPORT” for SM Blue-1, receiving the support from JPL. Applicable document SPACE COMMUNICATION CROSS SUPPORT SERVICE MANAGEMENT SERVICE SPECIFICATION Recommended Standard (CCSDS 910.11-B-1) August 2009. b. Applicable schema JAXA and JPL use the following latest schema: SmBlue-1Schemas-v1_0_0 c. Function assignment JAXA : the SCCS SM service-user prototype JPL : the SCCS SM service-provider prototype d. Target Mission : SELENE (JAXA satellite) JAXA and JPL keep the parameters of SELENE, which are based on the previous Red-1 prototype test. JAXA-GN-xxx

2010 Fall CCSDS meeting SMWG (@London, UK ) 6 4. Prototype Test Status JPL SM service-provider prototype already configured for the interoperability test. The development of JAXA SM-user prototype was finished successfully by begin of Oct. Although JAXA would like to perform the test before this meeting, the test was not in time, because it cleared that it takes times to prepare the data for interoperability test with JPL. JAXA is preparing the test data for the test scenario now. Therefore JAXA would like to postpone the testing with JPL to middle of November (on the week of Nov.15 ). JAXA-GN-xxx

2010 Fall CCSDS meeting SMWG (@London, UK ) 9 6. Test Plan a. INTEROPERABILITY TEST This test is conducted to verify the following items: -SCCS-SM message exchange is handled by SOAP/HTTPS between the service-provider prototype and the service-user prototype. -JAXA and JPL can perform the service request based on operation scenario, which is assumed the service request in the cross support. b. Test Items Test items are the services implemented by both JPL and JAXA. These are shown by yellow background in the next table 6-1. JAXA-GN-xxx

2010 Fall CCSDS meeting SMWG (@London, UK ) 13 a. Service Agreement (For JPL) JAXA received a service agreement for the interoperability test from JPL. JAXA has some comments as follows: Table 8-1 JAXA comments to Service Agreement 8. Bi-lateral Information JAXA-GN-xxx NoComments to Service Agreement #1About "smEntityName" of "allowedUmSmEntityNames", please change from JPL-UMR-1 to UMB-1. #2About "supportedSccsSmOperations", please change to the limited service operations implemented by JAXA. #3In the "carrierModulationTypeOptions" of "r401SpaceLinkCarrierAgreement", please change the tag name from bpsk to pcmpskpm. #4JAXA think that the element "pcmpskpm" of "r401SubcarrierAgreement" is not necessary. JAXA would like JPL to check and answer the above comments.

Scheme V1_0_0 and the Recommendation (For SMWG) Between JPL and JAXA, it was agreed to use the now Scheme V1_0_0 for the interoperability test, and it will not be changed for near future. Through the development of SM-user prototype, JAXA detected the some difference between the Scheme V1_0_0 and the Recommendation. JAXA would like to show the attached table 8-2 (Excel file) and appreciated if it is used for the next update of scheme or recommendation.
