Best Practices for Research Involving Children and Adolescents Wednesday June 23rd, 4:00-5:30 PM The CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health and the CIHR Ethics Office are pleased to announce the release for consultation of draft Best Practices for Health Research Involving Children and Adolescents. This document analyses the international norms and standards for ethical engagement with children, adolescents and their families involved in health research. It outlines 10 guidelines to help guide researchers and Research Ethics Boards. Aimed at child and adolescent health research generally, the document also addresses specific issues in longitudinal research, genomic research, palliative care research and novel therapies. By Skytrain (Canada Line) Exit left from hotel entrance on Canada Place. Follow Howe St. (walk PAST first subway/train station that reads Waterfront Station) turn left on West Cordova St. Walk one block east on W. Cordova St. to the Canadian Pacific Railway station In the station, look for the CanadaLine Waterfront platform. Choose platform to Richmond-Brighouse. Exit at the King Edward Station (Cambie Street and King Edward Avenue). Cross King Edward Ave to south side of the street. Walk west (direction to the right) along King Edward Ave to Heather Street. Turn left (south) onto Heather St. Walk along Heather St to W. 28th Ave. turn right at W. 28th Ave At hospital campus entrance, follow the campus road to the right (past the parking lot) to the main entrance of CFRI research centre (building #18) Total travel time: 40 minutes - approximately 20 minutes by CanadaLine and a 20 minute walk from the station to CFRI.
