Broadband IT Korea 6 Agenda Item 1.6 - (3) Resolution 950 (Rev.WRC 07) : Consideration of the use of the frequencies between 275 and 3 000 GHz resolves 1to review No. 5.565 of the Radio Regulations, excluding frequency allocations, in order to update the spectrum use between 275 GHz and 3 000 GHz by the passive services at WRC 11, taking into account the result of the ITU-R studies; 2that administrations may submit for inclusion in the Master International Frequency Register details on systems which operate between 275 and 3 000 GHz and which may be recorded by the Radiocommunication Bureau under Nos. 8.4, 11.8 and 11.12, invites ITU R to conduct the necessary studies in time for consideration by WRC 11 with a view to the modification of No. 5.565, including advice on the applications suitable for the band 275 3 000 GHz,

Broadband IT Korea 7 Related footnote RR5.565 The frequency band 275-1000 GHz may be used by administrations for experimentation with, and development of, various active and passive services. In this band a need has been identified for the following spectral line measurements for passive services: Radio astronomy service : 275-323 GHz, 327-371 GHz, 388-424 GHz, 426-442 GHz, 453-510 GHz, 623-711 GHz, 795-909 GHz and 926-945 GHz Earth exploration-satellite service (passive) and space research service (passive) : 275-277 GHz, 294-306 GHz, 316-334 GHz, 342-349 GHz, 363-365 GHz, 371-389 GHz, 416-434 GHz, 442-444496-506 GHz, 546-568 GHz, 624-629 GHz, 634-654 GHz, 659-661 GHz, 684-692 GHz, 730-732 GHz, 851-853 GHz and 951-956 GHz Agenda Item 1.6 – RR 5.565

9 Agenda Item 1.6 - (4) Resolution 955 (Rev.WRC 07) : Consideration of procedures for free space optical links resolves 1to consider possible procedures for free-space optical links, taking into account the results of ITU-R studies covering at least sharing aspects with other services, a clear definition of the band limits and measures to be considered if allocations to various services in the Radio Regulations above 3 000 GHz are considered feasible, invites ITU R to conduct the necessary studies in time for consideration by WRC 11.

Broadband IT Korea 10 Related ITU-R Recommendation ITU-R RS.1804 (Technical and operational characteristics of Earth exploration- satellite service (EESS) systems operating above 3 000 GHz) (2007) recommends 1that operators of EESS systems operating above 3 000 GHz should take into account the possibility of interference from transmitters of the science services (including those of EESS) in their selection of mission requirements and choices of sensor design; 2that studies of interference to and from EESS systems operating above 3 000 GHz should take into account the technical and operational parameters provided in Annex 1.
