7 Tallinn - Moscow – Tallinn container train Since 18 May 2007 Estonian Railways has dispatched 15 fully loaded (90 TEUs in average in a train) container trains to Moscow. Loading in Tallinn takes maximum 36 hours, unloading in Moscow ~2 hours. Wagons are loaded on trains in both Muuga and Paldiski stations, trains are assembled either in Muuga or Ülemiste station. Trains are made up of flat cars, majority of which belong to Estonian Railways. Ca 40% of containers returning on a train are empty. The train cycle from loading to loading is 10 days. An additional train will be added to this line in December (i.e. in total 2 trains a week). 3 trains a week in 2008. The trains can accommodate also private wagons. kaubaveod@evr.ee

14 Prioritise the development of different container train projects, including so-called single-train projects. Involve companies from abroad. Use the existing wagon pool as efficiently as possible and involve also private wagons. Maintain a stable and clear tariff policy and treat all our cooperation partners equally in setting the priorities. kaubaveod@evr.ee Main principles of the container freight policy of Estonian Railways
