Imagine that our country is under the threat of imminent nuclear attack. A person approaches you to make an independent decision concerning a nearby fallout shelter that can accommodate 6 people but has 12 people trying to get in. Stereotyping To stereotype is to assign identical characteristics to a member of a group, without taking into account how that individual may differ from other members of the group. Often stereotyping is merely a way to simplify how we look at the world - and we all do it to some extent.
