8. 8 EUROCONTROL Specifications - Background EUROCONTROL Regulatory and Advisory Framework (ERAF) ERAF defines EUROCONTROL Specifications Detailed voluntary technical/operational specifications Useable as a means of compliance to regulatory material May be developed as stand-alone documents in support of EUROCONTROL States and Stakeholders Defined in context of the interoperability Regulation Designed to complement & harmonise with EU and ICAO

9. 9 Why has EUROCONTROL developed those Specifications? Following specific requests by Stakeholders Identified in the ADQ Final Report to Commission ICB#21 supported five Community Specifications EUROCONTROL right of initiative to launch developments Delayed IR adoption (2 years) - CS Mandates not practicable Commission recognizes their role for a harmonised approach Commission supported these developments.
