4. MIDDLE SCHOOL MATHEMATICS Throughout the year, students will continue to work from the lessons provided in their text book, Holt Mathematics. This course covers concepts on number sense operations statistics and graphing, fraction concepts and operations integers within Algebra focuses on important, grade level strands that are a part of the yearly progression.

5. INCORPORATING STRATEGIES NEEDED TO BECOME GOOD PROBLEM SOLVERS TEACHES US HOW TO LEARN TO THINK THROUGH A PROBLEM. STRATEGIES SUCH AS…….. drawing a diagram making a model predicting and testing, working backward making an organized list finding a pattern making a table solving a simpler problem and writing an equation

6. EXPECTATIONS Class Routine  Warm up / Review  Directed lesson and guided note taking  independent practice according to abilities  Checking for understanding / monitoring

7. HOMEWORK - Homework is assigned every night, typically - Homework is collected daily - Homework will also be on Moodle, board, notes - Calculators: not allowed
