My name is Ms. Masihi pronounced masseehee My Credentials I have been teaching Computer related subjects since the year 2000 In 2011, I earned a Master of Arts degree specializing in Education Technology from CSUN Some of the computer subjects I taught were; word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia presentations, publications, Stick figure Animation Scratch programming and Google apps such as docs, sheets and sites In 2008, I learned to create websites with Dreamweaver but didn’t learn to code until 2010 with XHTML. I find myself fascinated with the language however, the language of the web is an evolving one and I am currently leaning the latest language; HTML5, which I hope to teach next year

What will I learn? In this course you will learn the design fundamentals of web pages and websites You will learn to code in Hyper Text Markup language (HTML) – the structure or building blocks You will learn to style or format in cascading style sheet (CSS) For interactivity, you will be introduced to JavaScript and Silverlight You will create a personal website for the Final

How do I access and submit assignments? To access 100% of the Assignments and 90% of the Lesson Files you will use my website at www.karinehmasihi.com www.karinehmasihi.com To submit assignments for grading you will use the following link afp://pchs- g104osxsvr.palihigh.local

How is the grading weighed? In correct sequence 1. Teacher Demonstrations 10% 2. Video Tutorials summary 15% 3. Lesson projects 15% 4. Self-study projects 15% 5. Review Qs 15% 6. Classroom expectations 10% 7. Final 20%

Web design with HTML & CSS Course requirements – Personal Ear phones/head phones (a must) One notebook or a section of a notebook dedicated to web design (a must) One flash drive (optional)

Web design with HTML & CSS Please Note This is not an atomic physics course but it requires equal dedication to stay on top of the assignments to earn an ‘A’ And it’s very easy to drop to a lower grade by missing just a few assignments and not respecting and following class rules. I hope you will stay and lean this exciting course however, know that there is a deadline for switching if coding isn’t your cup of tea.

Next 1. Pair up with a student next to you 2. Find out three things about them; first name, last name and most memorable/favorite time, at this summer break 3. Stand up, position yourself to face the the entire class and introduce the person
