AYP Review Target – 100 %, since 2013-14. Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Participation, Performance Other Academic Indicators: Attendance, Graduation Rate Progression: Watch, SINA, Delay, Removed

Steps in Meeting AYP 1.Meet the Target (within Confidence Interval, CI) 2.Safe Harbor – reduce % of non-proficient students by 10% 3.Biennium Data – Uniform Averaging – data for past 2 years, CI 4.Triennium Data – Uniform Averaging – data for past 3 years, CI Add in the students meeting growth (approved growth model) Repeat Steps 1-4

Safe Harbor Given: 70% Proficient last year that means 30% are not proficient Reduction of non proficient by 10% = 30 x.10 = 3% Add the 3% to 70 To meet Safe Harbor, you have to reach 73% proficient this year

Professional Developments Set Asides Requirements SINA 1 and 2- must set aside and spend 10% the building allocation for professional development DINA 1 and 2- must set aside and spend 10% of the district Title I allocation for professional development This set aside is budgeted in the Title I General Budget

SINA 1 -20% of the district allocation for Choice: ALL SINA 2 and above- 20% of the district allocation for Choice & Supplemental Education Services (SES) The Notification of Unexpended Funds form must be submitted to release the required 20% for use in other areas. This form is available after April 1 st. School Choice & SES Set-Aside (budgeted on the General Title I Budget)

An LEA’s notice to parents: Available ONLY to “poverty children” Explain how parents can obtain SES for their child Include the SEA list of approved providers within the LEA or its geographical location, including on-line providers Describe briefly the services, qualifications and evidence of effectiveness for each provider SES Notification: SINA 2 +

Indicate providers that are able to serve students with disabilities or LEP students Include an explanation of the benefits of receiving SES Application procedures Explain how the LEA will notify parents about enrollment dates and start dates Fair and equitable procedures for serving students if not all students can be served Identify the District contact person Districts-Enter into agreement with provider NO District contract with only one provider District should not show preferential treatment for any one provider SES Notification: SINA 2 + cont’

SINA Plans and Budgets Both due November 1 Submit plan through C-Plan on the Iowa Education Portal: https://portal.ed.iowa.gov/iowalandingpage/Landing.aspx Submit each building’s SINA budget through the Title I Application
