What is the Home Project? The Home Project was designated as the Governor’s Project for the 2012-2013 service year. Its goal is to involve Key Clubbers in the Florida District in bettering the lives of the homeless in their local communities

How to get started Identify the needs in your community Speak to your local soup kitchen, food pantry, homeless shelter or coalition to find out what your homeless community needs the most. It could be diapers, toiletries, or funds that would be the most useful in your local area.
4
Come up with a project that will be the most effective in aiding the homeless in your community. For example, if the main issue is cold weather, consider holding a blanket making project or holding a coat drive. Make sure your project has a meaningful impact and is a better use of time and money than simply donating. Plan Your Action
5
Make sure you know the rules and necessary qualifications for any agency you volunteer with. For instance, most soup kitchens require closed toe shoes and modest clothing. Food pantries may not accept items made by members of your club. Ensure you know the rules before you end up with 100 sandwiches that won't fulfill their purpose. Assess the logistics of your plan
6
Consider inviting a guest speaker that represents a local agency. For instance, a representative from your local homeless coalition can better inform your club and motivate them for projects Hold in meeting service projects such as preparing care packages, food items, or blankets for donation Meetings
7
Focus month March is the project is the month for the Home Project Agencies see the most donations during the holiday season and they have the most need during the times of the year around it. Plan ahead to create as many Home Project service opportunities for your club as possible and record your service
