Type of Work Engineering Services Does:
Roadway Milling and Resurfacing (yearly projects-maintenance) Concrete Curb / Gutter Sidewalk Pavement Marking Surface Treatments: Chip Seal Storm Drainage Utility (water and sewer) Pedestrian Paths (parks, nature trails, etc.) Parking Lots (building services etc.)

NCDOT Approved Bidders List City of Charlotte Approved Vendor No outstanding project issues from previous work Responsive and Responsible Contractors CBI Compliance (disadvantaged businesses) Bid Bonds Performance and Payment bonds City website:

Bid Process Almost all construction contracts are low bid
Bid Advertisement on the City website Pre-Bid meeting on some projects Bid deadline strictly enforced (clock on the wall) Bids checked then lowest responsible bidder is advised of potential award by All bids over $100,000 go to City Council for approval Bids then go to City Clerk for execution Contracts collects all bonds and various documentation Produce a contract for signature by City and Contractor Pre-Construction meeting with construction staff Notice to Proceed issued
