John D. Rockefeller jr. He was born in 1874 and died in 1960 He supported building the Center, because of that, the Rockefeller Center was named after him He was one of the richest Americans at his time

History of Rockefeller Center At first it was planned to be an opera, but in 1929 the people in charge decided to build a center The construction took place from 1931 until 1940

The general electric building is the highest of Rockefeller Center and the skycraper is the headquarters of NBC It is 259 m high and has 70 floors GE Building

The building itself It reaches from the 5th and 6th avenue and runs over to the 48th to 51st street In the Rockefeller Center are different restaurants, offices, even two parks and in winter a opportunity to go ice-skating The lower plaza is famous for the Christmas tree, which is placed there and switched on by the US president

About the Radio City Radio City Music Hall is an entertainment venue located in New York. Its nickname is „showplace of the nation“ The building belongs to the Rockefeller Center and is 300 meters away from the General Electrics Building, the Main building of the Rockefeller Center.

The famous Concert Hall „MTV video music awards“ have taken place there since 1999 These Year the Tony Awards, the price for the best musicans, was conferd in Radio City.

History The Radio City was built in 1920 and completed in 1932. At this time it was the largest and most opulent theater in the world The theater seats 6000 people and after an initial slow start it became the single biggest tourist destination of the city.
