The Goal 0 The goal for this presentation is to give students a better knowledge about what the three main learning styles are. Students will be able to identify the differences between auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning. After the introduction of all of these concepts students will be accessed with a quiz to test their knowledge of these learning styles. Once the quiz is taken students are given a resource in order to determine his/her specific learning style.

Visual Learners 0 What is a visual Learner? What is a visual Learner? 0 Strengths Strengths 0 Weaknesses Weaknesses
7
Visual Learning 0 Visual learners learn best by watching a demonstration or reading. Unlike an auditory learner, visual learners have difficulty focusing during a lecture or when something is being explained.
8
Visual Learner Strengths 0 Visual Learners are often organized. These learners can learn several things at once. Their minds are similar to a camera and can capture a word or something they are learning and store it within their memory. This is why it’s easy for them to remember what they see rather than hear. 0 Did you know? Did you know?
9
Fun Fact 0 Visual learners have a wild imagination and are considered “out of the box” thinkers. Because of this, visual learners are able to think of many solutions to a single problem.
10
Visual Learner Weaknesses 0 A visual learner using sight to absorb knowledge. These learners can be easily distracted by noise making it difficult to remember what is being taught. A disadvantage of visual learning is the difficulty of learning when there are no visual aids present.
11
Auditory Learners 0 What’s an Auditory Learner? What’s an Auditory Learner? 0 Strengths Strengths 0 Weaknesses Weaknesses
12
Auditory Learning 0 Auditory learners would rather listen to things being taught to them. This type of learner can remember things that are recited to them orally. Auditory learners can remember details of information they hear during a conversation or lecture.
13
Auditory Learner Strengths 0 These learners usually have an extensive vocabulary and excel in language arts. Students who learn by hearing will most likely carry on interesting conversations. 0 Did you know? Did you know?
14
Fun Fact 0 Auditory learners will often have musical talents. This is because their keen sense of hearing and auditory skills allow them to pick up on the rhythm of music and instrumental notes.
15
Auditory Learner Weaknesses 0 Auditory learners excel with the usage of sound. These learners would not do well with environments that restricted the use of sound. For example, auditory learning would be at a great disadvantage if the environment was in a library doing silent reading.
16
Kinesthetic Learners 0 What is a Kinesthetic Learner? What is a Kinesthetic Learner? 0 Strengths Strengths 0 Weaknesses Weaknesses
17
Kinesthetic Learning 0 Kinesthetic learners process information best with a hands-on approach. This type of learner does well with activities that involve a sense of touch. Kinesthetic learning is done best when movement is incorporated within the lesson.
18
Kinesthetic Strengths 0 Kinesthetic learners do better with practice and experience. These learners have excellent hand-eye or eye-foot coordination. When learning kinesthetically individuals must coordinate their bodies with their visual observations. 0 Did you know? Did you know?
19
Fun Fact 0 Hands-on learners usually have an interest in repairing things, sculpting, art, and working with various tools. Most kinesthetic learners have been known to be athletic. This is because they prefer to be active and doing activities involving movement.
20
Kinesthetic Weaknesses 0 Kinesthetic learners are often labeled as “hyperactive”. This is because they are not comfortable sitting in one place for very long. The classroom environment makes it difficult for these learners to get up and move. Lectures, discussions, or text may be difficult for a kinesthetic learner to grasp without movement.
