Shiran Alush Shai Kerer Dor Altshuler Academic instructor: Prof. Ronen Brafman Or The Decider Group Decision Making

Problem Domain : Group Decision Making  Few friends trying to decide where to go out on Friday night  large organizations trying to set up a mass event like student's-day or independence-day rally  referendum and public opinion surveys Our Goal : “ offer a new tool that will help groups of different scale to convey polls & questionnaires, while letting the voter express his preferences, and process the results using the most cutting-edge algorithms in order to get as accurate as possible results and information, while optimizing the entire process. ” - from ARD

Today, when a group of people wants to reach one agreed decision, they can: 1.Vote by hand raising/election (works only on simple decisions) 2.Argue until one takes the lead and decide for everyone (not fair) 3.Use Doodle.

is web site application for group decision making and event scheduling. Doodle is also available on Facebook. But Doodle doesn’t support complex decision with dependencies and constraints between the different variables of the decision. We will!

Requirements groups of people will be able to reach a unanimous decision in complex matters using:  Smart voting Filling an online questionnaire. Ability to express preferences.  Preferences handling algorithms Choose the most suitable algorithm for a specific problem. Apply algorithm on preferences sets to make a decision.  Share opinions Through a discussion board.

In addition…  Support a large number of users ◦ Allow voting in thousands  Intuitive, interactive and attractive framework ◦ For “simple” users  Security matters ◦ Assuring voting confidentiality, avoiding misuse  24/7 availability ◦ Same as Facebook

 Facebook application  Easy & Friendly Interface ◦ Creating ◦ Distributing ◦ Voting ◦ Analysis  Will Support : ◦ Constraints ◦ Dependencies ◦ Choosing\Ranking\Grading ◦ Smart Voting ◦ Sequential Voting ◦ Several Algorithms

- Example Choosing Ranking Grading Constraint “I'd rather it will be 2-nights at the sport center (as in figure). but if it'll be one-day, then I wish it'll be in the antique market rather then in the sport center" Dependency:
