2 The first Cisco system Networking Academy was established in the U.S. in 1997. Today there are more than 10,000 Academies in 152 countries world wide and 400,000 students who have graduated.

3 Cisco Systems, USAID and UNDP established CNAP alliance in 2001. More than 130 academies have been established in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.

4 Cisco offers a total of 800 hours of training, to teach students to design, build and maintain computer networks. What you will see today is the CCNA, or entry level, Academy Program.

5 CCNA ( Cisco Certified Networking Associate CCNP ( Cisco Certified Networking Professional) CCIE ( Cisco Certified Internet Expert) Today there are only 2000 CCIE holders in the world

7 The first Cisco Academy was launched on Oct 2002 at the Kabul University.

8 TODAY – 3 Academies, 382 Students Kabul University – Afghanistan’s Regional Academy, 194 students Ministry of Women’s Affairs - Local Academy, 62 students Telecommunication Training Center - Local Academy, 126 students 154 females, (40% of enrollment). The fourth HIGHEST proportion of women in any Cisco country.

9 TOMORROW Expand Local Academies to 5 additional cities. Expand the curriculum. IT Essentials, Wireless LANs, Network Security and Fundamentals of Voice and Data Cabling. Make CNAP sustainable Career Placement Program Revenue Generation

10 BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR… 1,000 students will be enrolled each year. 500 students will graduate each year or move on to further education.
