First, here is some NEW vocabulary: Prime Number: any number whose only factors are 1 and itself Composite Number: a number that is a multiple of at least two numbers, other than 1 and itself Square Number: a product made from a number multiplied by itself

How do I find the factors of a given number? 6 I want to know all the factors of the number 6. I will make a factor rainbow to find out. The first thing I will do to start my rainbow is multiply the number by 1. 1616 Next, I will think about number 2. Two times what is 6? 2323 Now I will think about number 3. Since 3 is already on the tree, I can stop here. I can now easily see the factors of 6. The factors of 6 are 1, 2, 3, and 6.

Find the factors of 10 using a factor rainbow. 10 1 25 The factors of 10 are 1, 2, 5, and 10.
