Homework Runs the Same Cycle Each Week Monday- 1. Read 20 minutes/Log 2. Spelling List Goes Home (Due Friday) 3. Every 2 Weeks at the Beginning of New Fundations Unit practice sheets go home (do not return). 4. New poem comes home to be practiced for Wed. Tuesday- 1. Read 20 minutes/Log 2. Math worksheet Wednesday- 1. Read 20 minutes/Log Thursday- 1. Read 20 minutes/Log 2. Math Worksheet 3. Thursday Thoughts Journal Friday- 1. Spelling Activities Due (parents initial unless work is attached) 2. Thursday Thoughts Journal Signed/Returned, Guided Reading Books will come home, to be read and returned.

At your child’s seat is a sheet with directions for Reading- Rewards.com Students are motivated to read with this system! We have logged in at the computer lab. We will continue to log in minutes for practice. We can see what each other is reading (only us). Please email me with questions! This is optional…you may request a paper log.

Birthday Bag Replaces birthday treats (school policy) Child brings in a bag of special items to share at morning meeting (pictures, toys, trophy, favorite item). We sing to student during meeting. On your child's birthday, they will invite one guest reader to read a story to the class. The date will be arranged with the teacher in advance. Schedules are flexible and we can arrange a guest reader 1-2 weeks before or after their birthday if necessary. More information can be found on my teacher page at BPS.

Rules and Consequences Students are asked to follow classroom procedures- When to sharpen your pencil Sign out for bathroom use No talking in the hallways (and more) Students are asked to follow classroom rules we created together the 1 st week of school. 1.Warning 2.Alaska to think about actions 3.Behavior Action Chart- sent home that night to be filled out by parent/child (phone call home). This is only sent for severe behavior issue and should be taken seriously.
