Use presentation equipment to introduce terminology). Use computers to point out the location of each part as it is discussed and explain that computer skills are important in this course and future career plans Students will hi-lite terminology related to Basic Computer System and place in their ICT1 notebook for studying. Complete the Computer Components Exercise on the back of Handout—Guided Practice & Integration of Language Arts and Technology Skills Handout—Guided Practice & Integration of Language Arts and Technology Skills Practice computer skills and terms using the website http://www.gcflearnfree.org and view video on computer systemhttp://www.gcflearnfree.org component Independent Activity: Web Quest-intro to Computer –Group Activity/Remedial Activity. Closure: Wrap up lesson with review questions. Wednesday Day 3 Daily Agenda Complete Bell Work & Discuss Review previous lesson and discuss homework assignment reminder-Due Thurs. Allow students to complete previous day Web Quest.-15 minutes Introduce lesson on the Operating System 4 functions Discuss various operating systems with students--PowerPoint Complete activity on the operating system-vocabulary and discuss orally Continue keyboarding lesson Enrichment/Differentiated Instruction Activity: The students will work in groups and create a poster using the computer with the components of a computer system such as the input, output, storage device and processing devices and share with the class. Closure Wrap up with a review-Think, Pair and Share Homework: Complete Operating Systems Activity. Closure: Wrap up with a review. Day 4 Thursday-- Daily Activities-Agenda Complete Day 4 Bell Work Question and Discuss Check Homework and Discuss Introduce lesson on safety precautions while using the computer system hardware and software. Discuss the various computer safety and care as it relates to hardware and software with students Read and complete the computer safety activities and care as it relates to hardware and software. Review all weekly concepts with students for computer test on Friday. Continue keyboarding lesson daily Differentiated Activities: Students will complete review activity on " Computer Basics Website--Go to http://www.learnthenet.com and complete:http://www.learnthenet.com Master the Basics--Test your knowledge Homework : Study all notes/ handouts on Computer Basic and Components Skills— Study Test Friday Closure: Wrap up lesson with a review. Review weekly skills with students Complete a computer basic skills Test- Part 1 Continue keyboarding lesson and Cool Math games-instructional games. Wrap up with a Journal Entry/Review.
