Page 6 NJ Department of Education Step 1: Save an Excel file as a.csv file Click on the File menu at the top left corner of your Excel window Select the Save As option from the list Click the Save as type dropdown menu and select CSV format. Click the Save button and a dialogue box warning will display. Click OK. Another dialogue box will display. Click Yes. Close the file.
