Our Purpose The focus of the CSPC is to help identify and focus on the future. Our goal is to help define the path forward for the organization – through membership, growth, and expansion.

Our Purpose Our desire is to educate and mentor students in the engineering and business fields who may one day join our industry

Summer Internship Program Member companies host college interns for the Summer Internship Program. The CDCA provides up to $4000 to member companies to supplement the labor cost for these interns. The CDCA will work with Colleges and Universities to post the positions. It is the responsibility of the host company to evaluate candidate interns and request the supplemental funds from the CDCA education committee. Requirements for student applicants: Must be a resident of South Carolina Must be a college student pursuing a degree at a South Carolina College or University Must be a Citizen of the United States of America Host companies are encouraged to give preference to student applicants who are pursuing engineering or technical degrees. However, selection based on DoD relevance, not technical relevance.

Summer Internship Program Board of Directors approved eight $4,000 internship awards for the 2011 summer. A 100% increase in the number of awards over last year! Education Committee reviewed all applications and selected the top eight Five corporate member companies obtained internships

Contributions The CDCA Education Committee continually looks for ways to attract talent to the region or promote organic development through the local educational infrastructure. Robotics - $25,000 donated to Palmetto Partners Regional Science Fair- Multiple education committee members served as Judges for the Regional Science Fair AFCEA Scholarship Golf Tournament Benefactor – $18,000 donated as of 3/7/11 Web Development Intern $6,000

2011 Investment Summer Internship - $32,000 Robotics - $25,000 AFCEA Scholarship - $18,000 Web Internship - $ 6,000 Grand Total$81,000

Pending Support Additional $60,000 being considered for allocation to support additional educational initiatives. CDCA’s total investment for educational initiatives in 2011? $141,000
