10 Procedure 2.3.1, Subpart B Consultation means  Administration seeks an opinion from the campus student association and considers that information in the decision making process.

12 Procedure 2.3.1, Subpart B Consultation is used  To gather student input  To receive student recommendations  To provide a forum for developing agreements between administration and the student association

13 Procedure 2.3.1, Subpart B Consultation Requires  Notifying the student association of the agenda items prior to the meeting;  Providing necessary background materials prior to the meeting*;  Providing a reasonable amount of time for the student association to consider the issue*.

14 Procedure 2.3.1, Subpart B When proposals are considered by the Board  President submits letter from student association prior to first reading;  Letter states the level of consultation;  Letter states any position taken by the association.

15 Procedure 2.3.1, Subpart B Consultation examples include:  Tuition,  Fees: Agreement to establish athletic fee, Exemption of fees, student life fees, health fees, facility fees, parking fees, technology fees,  Student wage rates,  Proposals to the Board that have significant impact of students.

16 Technology Fee (Procedure 5.11.1, Part 3, Subpart L Establish a fee to students Acquisition, upgrading and/or maintenance of technology for academic and student support activities that provide or enhance student access to technology.

17 Technology Fee (Procedure 5.11.1, Part 3, Subpart L A technology fee advisory committee shall exist A majority of the committee members shall be students. The campus student association(s) is informed of recommendations for comment. The committee makes recommendations to the president regarding expenditure

18 Technology Fee (Procedure 5.11.1, Part 3, Subpart L The college or university president has final authority regarding expenditure of funds received from the technology fee.
