Which Students? The Transition Lab provides services to students who: Have 1 or more COMPASS scores in 1.) Pre-foundation Level and/or 2.) Foundations Level Believe scores don’t reflect their skills and want to refresh skills and re-test Want to “brush up” for an upcoming mathematics, reading, or writing course Are motivated and willing to commit the time needed for an Accelerated Math or English course.

Services Offered Consultation, Planning, and Preparation Quick Start Curriculum

It is a minimum 10-hour workshop in basic academic skills. Quick Start utilizes software to improve skills and measure progress in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as technology and keyboarding. Work is completed in the Transition Lab, located in the LRC, under direct supervision of an advisor. Students who earn a “P” will receive: 1.) a Continuing Education Unit certificate (CEU). 2.) COMPASS Test waiver to retake/take the test.
