Isaiah 40:28-31 Isa. 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 40:30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 40:31 but those who wait on (wait for, hope in ) the Lord will renew their strength. They shall mount up with (soar on) wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint. 3

5. Mutual Encouragement May the Lord revive us and give us renewed strength for the New Year. Re-gain fresh faith in God’s purpose on us and His church, against our doubts, weaknesses and outward uncertainties. Grant us patience so we can persevere amid trials and difficulties. Supply us with the prudence and courage to take on His good work. Faith has aims; patience roots in hope; boldness comes from God’s strengthening. Phil. 4:13 I can do all things in Him who strengthens me! 11
