11. Misuse of His Name  If we worship God, and confess our faith in Christ –  But deny Him in our lives the rest of the week –  We have broken this commandment of God. Hypocrisy

12. Misuse of His Name 1 John 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? Hypocrisy

14. Proper Use  We must acknowledge Him, claim Him  Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Profession

17. The Penalty  Not be guiltless  With guilt comes punishment  The purpose of discipline is to bring repentance  The purpose of repentance is to restore fellowship

18. Conclusion  We must reverence and respect the name of God  We must show reverence for all that is holy and sacred  We must not abuse God’s name.  It is a stupid thing to treat the name of God carelessly.
