Click to edit Master title style IMAP Mail Client Access.k12.wv.us server supports IMAP – Practical option for those frequently using both webmail and client software (such as MS Outlook) – Synchronizes Inbox, Sent and custom folders between webmail and client software – Old & important messages easily transferred from web folders to client folders for permanent storage – More complex to manage than POP since it involves two sets of message folders in the mail client Web folders represent mail on the server Client folders contain mail on your computer Office of Instructional Technology

Click to edit Master title style E-mail from a Network Device Do you have servers, scanners, or multifunction devices that you wish could send e-mail? – A device connected to the k12.wv.us network can send mail with only an SMTP configuration – An e-mail account is not required to send e-mail – Setup SMTP using the server name smtp.k12.wv.us or the IP address 129.71.2.197 – Designate port 25 – Do not select any encryption or authentication options If the device absolutely insists on an e-mail address – Make up an address such as the examples below: – scanner3.rale@access.k12.wv.us scanner3.rale@access.k12.wv.us – mfc5.noreply@access.k12.wv.us mfc5.noreply@access.k12.wv.us Office of Instructional Technology
