SIO RAS surveys with cooperation with LABORATORY OF CHEMISTRY SB SIO RAS Research activity of the Laboratory is targeted at studies of the biogeochemical regime and pollution of the NE Black Sea. Main directions of studies: Interannual and seasonal variability of nutrients: climatic trends and anthropogenic influence; Interactions of oxic and anoxic waters, redox layer dynamics; Ecological conditions of the coastal zone of the Sea, pollutants estimations in the water column and the bottom sediments. Effect biota on hydrochemical parameters of environment and vice versa.

Intercalibration: national and international tests Lab of chemistry Sb SIO RAS many times took part in international program – Quality Assurance of information for Marine Environmental Monitoring (The Netherlands) - program of intercalibration and control quality of marine labs. (Test material groups: Nutrients in the sea water and Trace metals in the bottom sediments), in addition Russian programs (ICT) 1 stage of Russian program Interlaboratory comparative tests (IСT) in 2014
