Create a scale model of the solar system: (due today) - Use blank paper and pencil (colored pencils if you choose) - Draw the relative sizes of the planet (label with the names) - Draw the relative size of the sun - Draw a star to represent Alpha Centauri the star closest to our solar system (What do you know about this so-called star)? - Place the objects in their relative locations to scale - Draw your scale model and indicate the distance between each object and the diameter of each object in millimeters (obtain rulers)

Note the special sections: Vocabulary, Mathematical Insights and Special Topic to determine their main point(s) e. Read the Big Picture and Summary of Key Concepts pages 21 -22 4.
