8. IIHS Short Course on GIS: May 2012 A unique and intense 3-day programme for working professionals from diverse backgrounds. Aims to equip the learners with essentials of mapping, offering insights and hands-on exposure to working with various free-and-open-source mapping applications. Will equip learners to appreciate the nuances of key concepts, enabling them to quickly learn, test and apply the techniques in their respective domains and eventually be able to produce maps for their own needs. Highly recommended that participants bring their own data that they intend to map or visualise them spatially.
