2. Education District Update n Charlotta Johnsson n Educational Chair of ISA District 12 since February 2004 n I am working with all the Educational Chairs of the different sections within D12. n There are many activities that we can coordinate and initiate.

Education District Update - Activities during 2003 n Many sections had educational seminars in conjunction with other shows (England, Italy) n Italy organized conferences F “PED: impact of instrumentation and control” F “ATEX: impact on the End Users and how to get authorizations by Local Authorities”

8. Education District Update - Activities during 2003 n ISA Training Courses F France has a training centre “Psynapses” that takes care about ISA courses within France. Approximately 10 courses per year, with an approx. 5-12 participants. Occasionally tutorial are given at conferences. F The Netherlands has a training centre “TWP” that takes care about ISA courses within the Netherlands F Spain has experience of training courses and webinars through their Student sections.

9. Education District Update - Activities 2003 n Israel have been active giving lectures F 30 April 2003 - “Basics of Flow Measurements”. 98 participants F 2 September 2003 – “Advanced Flow Measurements”. 144 participants F 28 January 2004 – “Temperature Measurements”. 171 participants F 18 May 2004 – “Pressure Measurements”. 185 participants

10. Education District Update - Activities during 2003 n Many sections has student sections (2 new in Ireland, 2 in Spain) (discussed in an other presentation) n Technical talks have been organized for the students (Ireland, Spain) n Student invited, through ISA, to exhibitions (Ireland) n Three students were granted through ISA Spain to work for several months in automation companies (Spain).

11. Education District Update - Planned/Previewed Activites 2004 n The Saudi Arabian section plans to: u Hold tutorials at university campus u Provide training courses (on-line and/or instruction led). n Abu Dhabi Section (United Arab Emirates) will investigate the possibility starting CCST examination centres.

Education District Update - Planned/Previewed Activites 2004 n Spain has one potential new Student section. n Technical talks are planed for the Irish student sections. n France (Psynapses) will investigate on giving webinars in France. n France (Psynapses) plans to develop additional new courses. n Italy would like to investigate the possibility of creating « training courses for instrumentation engineers ».

13. Education District Update - Planned/Previewed Activites 2004 n Italy will co-organize a conference (topic: IEC 61511) and workshops (2 already planned). n Many sections interested in the CCST certification program (Sweden, SuadiArabia, …)

Education District Update - summary n Many of the 20 sections has had educational activities during the past year. n There are more opportunities – more about this in separate presentation n Together we can make ISA a strong provider of educational services within the sections of District 12 !!
