To build up a quality & caring community through “ networking ” social capital “ Caring Estates ” in SD Objective Social Inclusion Community Solidarity Project objective: is to set up “Caring Estates” in the Southern communities through networking residents, businesses, government and local organizations, thereby creating an environment for building-up of social capital. 4. 1. Caring Neighbourhood Campaign: Neighbourhood Networking and Employment Training  Promotion: launched in 8 Public Housing Estates in the Southern District.  Neighbourhood Support:  Setting up a Neighbourhood Volunteer Team and equipping them with fundamental & advanced trainings.  The volunteers will contact their neighbours & work out tailor-made neighbourhood care plans.  The volunteers will also explore the potentials of families & encourage them to join the Neighbourhood Volunteer Team.  Employment Support:  Job skill training & employment counseling service offered to the local unemployed.  An Employment Support Centre & liaison office will be set up in Southern to provide updated employment information.  Identifying job vacancies in the local business sector, local organizations etc.  An “Environmental-friendly Market” will be set up to gather second-hand goods for sale and exchange. Unemployed people will be motivated to work as “voluntary shopkeepers”.  Volunteers & the unemployed participants will be given “Caring Saving Passports” to record voluntary services provided, which can be exchanged for second-hand goods & services or for discounts at recognized shops. Caring Community Campaign: Local Organizations Networking  The organizer and the Neighborhood Volunteer Team will visit local organizations and invite them to be “Caring Organizations”.  A “Caring Organization” will agree to provide resource support to this project.  In recognition of their participation and supports, we will grant them “Caring Logos” putting up at their organizations and to acknowledge them publicly.  Efforts of “Caring Organization” would also be recognized by commendation ceremony, press releases, etc. Delivery Mode “ Caring Estates ” in SD

Caring Businesses Campaign: Businesses Networking  The organizer and the neighborhood volunteer team will visit local shops and invite them to be “Caring Shops”.  A “Caring Shop” will agree to provide special offers, donate goods or provide job vacancies to people in need.  In recognition of their participation and support, we will grant them “Caring Logos” putting up at their shops to acknowledge them publicly.  Efforts of “Caring Organization” would also be recognized by commendation ceremony, press releases, etc.  A “Caring Saving Passports” will be issued to the unemployed and volunteers for recording their time of voluntary services provided, which can be exchanged for second-hand goods and services, or for discounts at recognized shops, or for the fee of taking part in activities organized by the projects. Caring Neighborhoo d Campaign 150 volunteers join the Neighbourhood Volunteer Team & visit 450 families. 8000 (person-times) unemployed people join the Job Skill Training Programme. at least 300-350 local job vacancies will identified. Caring Community Campaign liaise with at least 25-30 local organizations. at least 10-15 local organizations join the “Caring Community” Campaign. Caring Businesses Campaign liaise with at least 60 shops / companies. at least 10-20 shops/companies join the “Caring Businesses” Campaign. Expected Output “ Caring Estates ” in SD

10. Caring Neighborhood Campaign: networks built amongst local residents at least one of the assessment items can be improved out of 60% of families outreached. at least 70% of volunteers feel satisfied with our project. 20% of families outreached join the neighborhood volunteer team or build networks with their neighbours. 25%-30% unemployed people of our Employment Centre will participate in voluntary services. Caring Community Campaign: Increased involvement of volunteers at least 50 volunteers will be referred by the participating local organizations. Caring Businesses Campaign: Increased cross sector participation at least 30 shops/companies donate goods/provide special offers to the community. Expected Outcome “ Caring Estates ” in SD
